How does Cagrilintide work?
Cagrilintide is a once-weekly amylin-receptor agonist. Amylin is co-secreted with insulin from pancreatic beta cells and signals satiety, slows gastric emptying, and suppresses post-prandial glucagon. Combining amylin signaling with GLP-1 receptor agonism is studied for additive appetite suppression.
