Quantum IV
Storage & Handling
Store unopened lyophilized vials at room temperature
Once reconstituted, refrigerate at 36–46°F
Use within 24 hours of reconstitution
Discard unused portion after single use
Always use aseptic technique
Preparation
Reconstitution:
Reconstitute each lyophilized vial with 1-2 mL sterile saline
Swirl gently until fully dissolved, do not shake
Dilution into IV Bag:
Withdraw reconstituted Quantum vial(s) into sterile syringe(s)
Inject into 250–500 mL of 0.9% Normal Saline (preferred)
Gently invert IV bag several times to ensure even distribution
Administration
Infuse over 30–60 minutes via standard infusion set
Start infusion slowly (10–20 mL over first 10 minutes), monitor tolerance
Increase to a steady rate if no adverse effects
Monitor vitals at least every 15 minutes
Post-Infusion
Observe patient 15–20 minutes after infusion
Document any adverse reactions (rash, dizziness, hypotension, dyspnea)
Dispose of unused products and supplies as biohazard
Adverse Event Management
Mild reaction (flushing, nausea, headache): slow or stop infusion, monitor, supportive care
Severe reaction (anaphylaxis, hypotension, chest tightness): stop infusion immediately, activate emergency protocol, administer epinephrine/oxygen/IV fluids per ACLS
Regulatory Status
Quantum IV infusion is an off-label use. It is intended for use only by licensed healthcare professionals trained in IV therapy and emergency response, and who are familiar with the product and scope of practice.
Patient Eligibility & Safety:
Review patient history, allergies, and contraindications prior to treatment
Exclude patients with active infection, uncontrolled chronic disease, severe renal/hepatic impairment, pregnancy or breastfeeding (unless medically cleared)
Obtain signed informed consent, including off-label disclosure
Record baseline vitals (HR, BP, SpO2) prior to infusion
